Autism
is a physical condition linked to abnormal biology and chemistry in
the brain. The exact causes of these abnormalities remain unknown,
but this is a very active area of research. There are probably a
combination of factors that lead to autism. The symptoms of autism are caused
by physical disorders of the brain.
They
include:
Disturbances
in the rate of appearance of physical, social and language skills.
Abnormal
responses to sensations. Any one or a combination of senses or
responses are affected: sight, hearing, touch, pain, balance, smell,
taste, and the way a child holds his body.
Speech
and language are absent or delayed while specific thinking
capabilities might be present.
Abnormal
ways of relating to people, objects and events.
Human
brain has several small cells which interact with each other and send
relevant messages to different parts of the body due to which we
react to our environment, have reflexes, different senses, emotions,
can communicate and co-relate the happenings around us. Every cell
has specific functions. Some of these cells, especially those that
affect communication, emotion and senses, don’t develop properly or
get damaged causing autism.
Integrated Therapy is committed to the highest quality of aquatic physical
therapy care. Integrated therapy occurs in the natural settings where
students need to practice the functional skills that are difficult
for them to perform. For example, therapy may occur in the cafeteria
during lunch, in the gym during physical education, or in the
classroom during writing instruction.
